The Love of a Father

Bella is a year old. I can’t believe it! Everyone told me that time would fly once you have children and this past year has been a blur.

As I reflect on this past year and my short time as a father, I realize that I am learning more about the love of God each day.

I admit that I never knew a love like this…a love that was written before time. A Father's love must be immeasurable. Stretching across the heavens and reaching deep into the earth. Breathing love into but specks of dust. Relentlessly pursuing love to the ends of the earth. Gently walking into darkness to hold love in the palm of His hand – Giving the life of His only begotten…I never knew a love like this. Honestly, I don't think I can ever comprehend the gift of love that God has given.

When Bella was born, I knew in an instant that I would give my life for this child, but I'm not sure I could ever bear giving my child's life for anyone.

This is the extent of the Father's love that I am not sure I grasp...but, am I ever grateful for His love.

Yes, time truly flies once you have children! In the blink of an eye. We have so little time to prepare them for the world and ensure that they rely on His word.

She is beautiful!

Tommy, this is your cousin Lori. Mom forwarded your email to me and gosh your family is beautiful. I can't believe how much Bella has grown since March. I am glad to hear that you all are so happy and have settled into your new life in Virginia. Keep up the good work of teaching the word of God. He has done great things in your life. My girls loved seeing the pictures of Bella. Keep in touch. We love you all, Lori, Glen, Lexi & Zoe.
